Who this is for

  • Leagues and clubs that want coaches to practice compressions and AED use on a manikin, not just watch a video
  • Boards that want to walk through their cardiac emergency plan with coaches at the field
  • Teams that completed online training and want a hands-on refresher before the season

Starting January 1, 2027, California youth sports organizations must make sure coaches are CPR/AED certified. The law allows online or in-person training. โ†’ See the full requirements

What a session covers

  • Recognizing sudden cardiac arrest in an athlete
  • Calling 911 and directing others
  • Hands-on CPR practice on manikins
  • Using an AED with a trainer unit
  • Walking through your league's cardiac emergency plan: who calls, who runs for the AED, who meets EMS
  • Questions from your coaches

Session length, which certification or card a session issues, and exact equipment details are confirmed when we quote your group.

Where we train

  • At your location: your field, gym, clubhouse or school multipurpose room. You provide a space with room to kneel and practice; we bring the manikins, AED trainers and supplies. Ask us about coverage for your city when you request a quote.
  • At our training center: A-B-CPR & First Aid Training, 3717 Camino Del Rio S., San Diego, CA 92108

Pair it with online training

Many leagues do both:

  1. Coaches complete online CPR and AED training on their own time, and you track completions in your admin portal. โ†’ See coach training + admin portal
  2. We run a short hands-on session at a preseason coaches' meeting.

FAQ

Can you come to our field?

Yes. We train at fields, gyms and clubhouses. You provide a space with room to kneel and practice.

Do coaches need to finish online training first?

No, but many leagues pair the two: online training for certification and tracking, and a hands-on session for practice.

How many coaches can you train at once?

Group size depends on space and the session we quote. Tell us your headcount when you request a session and we'll confirm what fits.

Can you help us with AEDs too?

Yes. We sell and rent AEDs, including rentals for tournaments. โ†’ AEDs ยท AED rental

Does an in-person session satisfy the state requirement?

The law says coach training can be in person or online from an accredited organization following national guidelines, and it doesn't define "accredited organization." Check your governing body's rules, and we'll tell you exactly which course and card your session includes.
