Looking for a free CPR class in San Diego? Well, you have your work cut out for you! In the past American Red Cross used to offer a Free CPR Saturday once a year, however no longer. Since the government has mandated individuals be CPR certified in many industries such as, Childcare, Residential care, Construction, Nursing, EMT, personal trainers, and many more, people are scrambling to find affordable CPR. American Red Cross and American Heart Association are the leaders in providing CPR classes. This training has become a big source of revenue for them because even if you were to find an instructor to volunteer their time, they would still need to pay Red Cross or American Heart Association between $20 and $30 just for the certification card.
There is hope! Here are a couple ideas.
- Check with your local fire department– Sometimes they get grant money to offer public service classes
- Check with your local city– For example we teach classes for the City of Poway. They have grant funds as well.
- Ask your employer– See if your employer would sponsor a safety training class! Many times they are looking for volunteers for an emergency response team.
- Ask friends and family if they know an instructor willing to teach!
The only hope is to find an affordable training if you can’t find an option above. Shop around! As I mentioned the big two, American Red Cross and American Heart Association, are very expensive. Companies like A-B-CPR & First Aid Training Inc. are independent! Our program meets all national and state requirements that you may need but at an affordable price. We do not need to be beholden to RC and AHA. We offer classes for:
- Licensed childcare
- CPR classes for personal trainers, coaches, teachers etc.
- BLS CPR for Healthcare Providers for EMT, Nurses, Dentist, etc.
- We also now offer these course as a blended option! Online and Skills class.
- EMSA 8 hour Preventative Health classes now as a webinar!
We look forward to serving you.
